RoboBraille gaining popularity

13 April 2007

An email service primarily targeted at users with visual or reading difficulties is gaining popularity during its test phase.

RoboBraille works by users sending a document as an attachment to an email address. Within a matter of minutes the documents are returned in contracted Braille or as a synthetic speech MP3 file depending on user preferences.

In addition to the Braille services, and once the service is hopefull made commercial for companies to use, the production of MP3 files could be an affordable and quick way for people and companies to provide audio versions of their content online.

Overall, it is positive to see steps being made to make computing more accessible.

Test Automation Rule #3: If you have a great automated test, it’s not the same as the manual test that you believe you were automating.
