The BBC reports on how alternatives to the traditional arrow cursor can leave Windows computers open to attack.

Through attachments and specially created websites malicious hackers have been taking advantage of this bug. Microsoft has requested users to update their security program and beware of attachments to protect against the threat. In addition to this, security firms are recommending the use of an alternative web browser, such as Opera or FireFox.

The CIA planted the bug that led to the world's worst explosion in 1980s Russia.
